Portugal 20 escudos 1940

I know this bill is in very poor condition, but I want to learn a little more about it. I tried the internet but couldn't find much information.

Just did a quick Google search and found one just like yours (except nicer) on eBay.

The tape on the ends suggest it was part of a short snorter.
