Why do "they" continue to make this stuff?

    Because someone will buy?

We have to recognize we are not the only people who like shiny metal objects. We generally pursue numismatic worthy issues, but others simply like their favorite things made into shiny coins. I saw 6 months ago a special Dr. Who set with all of the actors playing Dr. Who as a separate coin, wrapped up into a special box.

I used to be mad about it, but have mellowed. We do not have a monopoly on shiny metal objects, humankind has liked them since they were first able to make them. So I simply consider such stuff like commemorative plates. Doubtful they will ever hold their value, but if it makes someone happy to own them, God Bless them and I hope they enjoy their hobby.

Good point, Medoraman. If these aren't your cup of tea then just move along. That's how I try to approach a lot of things in life as I get older. There's plenty of real coins for us collectors.
