My impression of women has taken a beating over the last few years.

She's been selling her husband's collection since Sept of 2004. It sounds like another tired marketing strategy, I hope it's backfiring! She (if it really is a she) should just sell the coins and not annoy the eBay community with her alleged story. This is on par with the "I found a huge treasure chest of coins in an old abandoned farm house!" story. It's simply a story to try to get people to pay more for coins than they would otherwise pay. Sad...

It may be a scam, but is sure is funny to read. I am surprised any body would take a chance with the return policy.

I got divorced in 1998 and after going through what "stuff" I was left with, I found my ex-wife's freakin' Precious Moments collection.

She thought it was lost in the move. Lucky this stuff was in storage while she was "raking me over the coals."

THANK YOU SIR, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER?!? Gotta love those divorce attornies. At least she never got her hands on my coin collection as 95% of the collection was in my hands BEFORE I got married. So I stored them at my folk's house while my life was getting divided.

Smiling and smerking...I said to myself, "Screw it!...I'll list these on eBay and will apply the proceeds to replacing the tools she got. [Why she got the tools is beyond me, but I did get these stupid ceramic dolls].

I listed them as "Divorced Man Selling Ex-Wife's Precious Moment Collection".

I stated the story again (long version) and posted pictures of these things next to a ruler and described all of the notations on the bottom as best I could. I REALLY had no idea what these were worth, nor did I care. I just wanted to sell them and listed all of them starting at 99 cents. They were all in mint condition as my ex kept them in the original boxes while they were in storage. I should have thanked her for that!

Man...was I surprised what these things sold for! I had one lady buyer that told me she didn't know if she bought one of the precious monents for the item itself, or my story in the listing. At least it brought some happiness to another collector.

Still, the money I made from selling those things was some small justice in a nasty divorce war. After that, I always felt they should make it as difficult to get married as they do to get divorced. What a nightmare to say the least!

Eh, in the early 1970s my stepfather's first wife took almost his entire coin collection, mostly proof sets, Morgans and Walkers.....dozens, and dozens, and dozens of them according to him. He had loaded up on everything he could get his hands on prior to about 1965, and he kept it all in a big military style trunk. He left town for a 3 day business trip and came home to an empty apartment with no warning at all- no food, no furniture, no clothes, and no coins. She cleaned him out.

    I'd have gone nuts.
