Here a error for you. Is this worth anything at all? If you want it, you can find it on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/1972-S-U-S-PROO...yZ139814QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Jeff, There is no way of being sure that the two Proof Nickels were placed in the Proof Set holder at the Mint! Just because someone says that it is so, does not make it true! The Proof Set holders are not that hard to pry open, place an additional Proof Nickel in the Nickel hole and snap the holder back together. Therefore, to me, the set has no significant value above that of any other 1972-S Proof Set and if I paid a premium above that, it would only be the value of the extra Nickel. Frank
I'd be concerned that by being pressed against each other, the coins may be scuffed, and therefor of little value. The plastic case also seems to be cracked. I'd rather have a typical set in nice condition.
I can see scuff marks near the date where the seller forced the second nickel in. Another load of bullpuckey.
first: Your eyes (all of you) must be better than mine, I don't see two pieces there, they must be perfectly aligned. 2: I don't see any damage or 'screwing' with the holder.
