While looking through one of my Beautiful Bride's mail order catalogs I came across these wonderful items! 30 cents for $29.95 + S/H6 nickels for $39.95 + S/H
The bag of 1943 cents is the bigger scam. The bracelet is jewelry and shouldn't be considered a numismatic item at all.
haha going with the braclet...yes it is jewlerybut still 6 worn buffalos (even the connectors are only "silverplated links" ) over all value .15 X 6 =.90 + .50 for the silver links so $1.40 AT MAX but $40?
Junk jewelry never made sense to me. My girlfriend buys crap jewelry because it looks "cute" and always overpays.
I was pretty skeptical about the steel cent thing. Suddenly, I noticed they include a Certificate of Authenticity ! YAY !!!!
true and I'm sure they had to pay someone in a sweatshop somewhere a couple dollars a day to solder them together. I have a whole shoe box full of 5 coin sets of 1943 plated steel cents.( Bought at the 99cent store years ago) Maybe I should crack them out of the cheap holders put them in a bag and sell them.
Well, you see these steel cents are not in any old bag, they are in a bankers bag, you know whenever you get a bag of cents from the bank, how they always come in that little drawstring bag, 30 cents to a bag, with the money symbol printed on the bag, so you know it is money? Plus they come with a certificate, certifying that they are actually 1943 steel cents. Maybe iffen you do one, include a magnet, so people could check for themselves that they are genuine US Steel cents, made in 1943?
Yea but then the magnet is cutting into my profit You know I didn't see that hand crafted in the USA, so the sweatshop is probably paying less:devil:
The bag of steel cents is FUNNY! About like the pet rock. LOL Hey, at least you can wear the bracelet!
I vote for the Bankers Bag of Steel "Pennies". I started a thread on this item several months ago. http://www.cointalk.com/t112705/
I still had the vote the bag of cents as a bigger scam, because even though it is on a minimal level, I can see a practical point to the bracelet. As little as most Americans recognize non circulating coins and even some circulating coins, many people recognize the "buffalo" Nickel so there is some conversation value to a Lady wearing one. The bag of Steelies I find 100% Not Practical on any level and completely useless... IMO
The biggest scam is the fact that they probably gouge you another $29.95 for "shipping and handling."
