Please read the whole contest thread and vote on what you think the best find was. "Best" does not automatically mean the most valuable, though that is one consideration. Just vote for the find you think is the most interesting and/or appealing.

Our poll is limited only to the first ten entrants, since the forum's software only allows for a maximum of ten responses in a poll.

Here they were, as tallied by @TheNickelGuy (thank you- I've been away and did not have time to keep up with the the contest as I should have).

This is only the first ten that got posted. Sorry for having to leave the rest out.

    dano 1943 Newfoundland 10 cent

The winner will get bragging rights. @meandyou4ever0 might or might not also have a prize for that person, since she was the one who came up with the idea for this contest. And I should probably make a little digital trophy up, huh.

I think I know which entry will be a clear favorite, but I'm personally going with @potty dollar 1878 's 1944 trench art engraved 1910 cent, for its uniqueness and historical importance.

Of course ALL the entries were fun finds, I think we can all agree.

I like the 1899 IHC because it was found using a Metal Detector. Nothing more satisfying than that!

I really like the 1910/1944 Lincoln cent with The Lord's Prayer. It was done so perfectly on such a small piece. Also the history behind trench art is so creative and unique as Lordmarcovian stated. The prayer most fitting for a soldier far from home.
Can you imagine the work involved in that? I don't think it was struck.
I think it was engraved by hand and I would love to find one near as good someday but probably won't. There were a few others (including mine) that I thought were excellent but my vote has to go with Potty Dollar. Head and shoulders above the rest in my opinion.

I like the Henning nickel. Although he evidentially produced a large number, they aren't easy to find and properly identify.

I can’t believe the two Morgans and silver halves haven’t gotten a vote yet. I thought for sure that would be the easy favorite.

I also didn’t think about how long to run the poll. This is the first one of these contests so we’re still kind of winging it.

It was very surprising! I asked her if she was sure if she wanted to sell them to me haha. I'm honest, if nothing else.

Since I didn’t consider how long to run the poll (we’ll do this better next time), I guess I’ll just let the poll run a few days to see if a clear winner has been established, and call it then.

    Sort of.
Considering second place is the first loser, you could win the title of First Place Loser. Maybe LM can present another virtual Loser trophy.

2 Morgan dollars from a bank + Walking Liberty & Franklin halves. I'd be quite happy to find those large silver coins in a reject bin!

I have to go with ace71499's 2 Morgan dollars from a bank + Walking Liberty & Franklin halves.

I have gotten interested in half-dollars again (a year or so ago one of my sons brought me a zip-lock bag with a bunch of Eisenhower halves he had gotten from a friend). Decades ago I could find Franklins and an occasional Walking Liberty out in circulation. Today I can't find halves at all. Banks around here just don't carry them. Oh, well. Maybe my son can find me some -- even if they are only Eisenhowers.

Looks like we’re tied 6 to 6 between the top two contenders. Guess we need to wait for a tiebreaker vote to come in before announcing the winner.
