I got this piece in 2017. I carry it with a few other silver pieces. It has some decent wear on Lady Liberty's hair and on the eagles feathers. The color ain't bad either.
When they’re testing out a new die they’ll do strikes with different amounts of pressure until they find the perfect amount required. Sometimes some of these “trial strikes” or “die adjustment strikes” get out. They’re usually weakly struck around the rims and the details aren’t fully formed.
@rooman9, @green18- That Kennedy didn't come out of my pocket, it came out of a roll. Is there a definitive way to tell it's a legitimate trial strike? Are they made with a different metal or the clad Kennedy planchets for circulation?
Proper alloy. The determination of such is quite out of my element. An more knowledgeable sort would have to be employed to make an definitive determination.........
I used to have a night job in a lobby. I walked around sometimes twirling it between my fingers to try and stay awake. I dropped it quite a few times as you can see.
