When you get pocket pages for your 2X2's should they and the album be PVC free. I would think they should be but seems a lot of them with PVC are on the market. Tim
alot of them indeed are pvc, and they sell quite well mainly because tghe folks buying them either dont know abotu pvc, or dont believe it is bad. i would stay clear away from them.... they are cheaper, but you get what you pay for!!
I dunno..man o man..I really need closure on this PVC thing. This is one of the most discussed issues, (its right up there with cleaning coins and acetone baths), and there really seems to be any concensus after the dust settles. I was under the impression its when the coin is touching the PVC material is when the residue appears, and damge can occur. If its in the 2 x 2 then i just don't see that contact taking place
By all means, stay away from anything with PVC in it. Not only will it damage coins directly if they are flips but even if they are good flips, the pages you place them in will allow the gas that PVC emits leach into the flips and still damage them. Buy only the best when you are storing anything, coins,stamps,comics,postcards-ANYTHING. I work in the plastics (molding) buisness and have some knowledge on this. Eventually your pages will also break down, become brittle, crack and the coins might fall out. Hope this helps you decide.
