Can anyone give me a link to a good printable pocket guide . Looking for things like key dates and the more common errors to look for .
Might not fit in your pocket, but I bring a copy of the Redbook to every show I attend just in case I see something that looks neat but that I'm not very familiar with. Can look it up in my Redbook quickly and get some basic info and a rough estimate of it's value.
You may try this one - I've seen collectors use them in the past, highlight key dates & make notes in the margins of errors. Note this is not my site, auction, or endorsement, just a suggestion to your request. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-US-Checkli...ash=item3a51303149&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262
If you have an iTouch or iPhone there are Apps out there for coin collectors, Coin Collecting Guide from PTAJ Marketing Inc is $2.99. There's also Coin Collector, Coin Collector Extra, U.S. Coin Collection, "Coins" from the MoneyMuseum, US State Quarters, EuroCollector and others all available in the Apple App Store.
Write them down on a piece of paper and carry it in your wallet. The money you'll save can be spent on a nice coin.
