Just wanted to take a little poll and see who you guys use to grade your stuff, or which grader you prefer to buy?

In my experience they're both about right on with their grades. Their cost and turn around are also about the same. I usually send 25 bills at a time to get the bulk price.

The thing I really can't stand about either one is they use the same oversized carding for their small notes. I think the small notes should have their own sized card.

That being said, I typically use PMG. I'm happy with not only the grades I recieve, but also how well sealed they are. It's completely sealed with security edging all the way around making it virtually impossible to modify in any way. The bill also stays good n snug, with PCSG the only level of security is the sticker folded over the top, and bills can move around if jostled. I also like how PMG puts the city the note was produced on the label.

    So whats your prefrence?

PMG is in the same group of companies as NGC, right? I personally like their holders better for paper money and comic books. :D

PCGS takes almost a year to grade and return your notes.
    PMG takes about three weeks.

Same diff to me, I frame almost all of my notes so out of the holder they come anyways, PCGS notes are always easier to extract from... one thing I don't like on PMG is the milky blue tone to the holders. Otherwise, they grade well. I have come to prefer PCGS use of Apparent vs. NET though....

My only complaint with PCGS is the turn-around time.... I could start my own grading company and do it myself by the time PCGS returns my notes....

All I had to do was call PMG, do a little paperwork and my NGC account applied to their submissions. Regular service is the way to go unless you need the notes back quickly if you are buying from dealers who guarantee a certain grade if submitted.

I have heard varying opinions on quality of grading, one is more liberal than the other or one high grades problem notes, etc..

The problems with doctoring are as big with currency as with coins based on what I have heard from seasoned experts.
