My guess is that the stuff came off the rim but how does it get welded onto the field?

Dropped digits/letters can stick to the fields so why not a chopped rim?

mushrooms go good on spam if you fry it.

So you think this little thing is a mint error?

The post the mushrooms referred to was deleted. It looks like striking damage to me-a die wobble or something similar to what causes shelf doubling on letters. Have you tried to remove it?

I didn't bother to quote that monstrosity of a post and perpetuate it. Fist time I ever saw one of those spam things pop up (other then being quoted by someone) Mods must be slow today :)

I didn't do anything to this, didn't want to ruin the minty luster :)

Because of the shape of the cut I figure it has to be PMD. Just strange that it got reattached.

It does seem like it fits the spot on the rim. How do you find those things? Most people would never have noticed that.

I just look at any given coin, and the things that are not normal pop out at me.

The philosophers claim it's the journey that counts not the destination. They're over paid. :p
