A friend of my is a researcher at Hebrew University who is working on a comprehensive corpus of coins of Gaza under Roman rule. He will greatly appreciate if the members who have in their collections (or previously had but still have pictures) Gaza coins would share the images with him, at yoav.farhi@mail.huji.ac.il If you wish, your collection will be mentioned in the book as a source, or you can remain anonymous. Thank you!
Not really for rarities, he performs die and statistics study, so he really needs every known Gaza coin for this research. He is working on this research for a few years already (it was actually the topic of his PhD thesis) and sources easily available online such as VCoins or major auctions are already covered. Especially useful would be coins from older auctions (before 2000), coins that were not illustrated in sale catalogues, these purchased directly from dealers at shows, eBay purchases, coins not properly described or identified etc. Thank you again! This research is very comprehensive and is currently covering over 4000 known coins of about 300 types. No study on such a scale has been performed on Judaean city coins since Kadman's time, but the amount of material available today is larger by an order of magnitude. I am really eager to see this book published!
