Sorry for your tragic loss, Brian. However, Blue is now in "Heaven" watching over you. I lost my Boxer, three years ago, we still miss him alot/ even our Rottie/ Shi Tzu mourn his passing to this day. They all slept together, with our Tabbie cat. Loki/ Thor/ Logan and a coin "canus lupus " on reverse
It’s been a long time since our Irish Wolfhound, Maggie had to be put down but my fond memories of her are still strong. I remember how she waited for me on the stairs at the end of each day and greet me with affection when I reached the top step. She was fearless and would protect anyone privileged to receive her love. Whenever I visit the Gettysburg Battlefield with friends or family, I like to stop at the Irish Brigade Memorial with it’s wolfhound—to pause, reflect, and respect my Irish ancestors—and to remember Maggie.
So sorry for your loss @Alegandron , it is so hard losing a pet. I don't have any dog-related coins to share, so I’ll just add this drachm of Alexander the Great, the most famous ancient dog owner. Alexander's dog Peritas came along with him on most of his military missions...I don't think my dog would have fared as well in the army. Again, so sorry for your loss. RIP Blue.
Brian, So very sorry for your loss. We lost one in 2014 and 2 in 2018, the pain is awful. Blue crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is now running free. No dogs, I will check out vcoins in his honour.

I feel your pain Brian We lost our greyhound (the same as on this coin, which is thus the only roman coin my wife owns) when she was 15 yo, and that was 20 years ago Q
I'm so sorry, Alegandron. It can be unbearable to lose such a companion. I wish I could say something to ease your pain, but, I know that the wound is too deep right now. This is Napoleon, a berber skink. He was 15 years old and I had him for 13 years. He was comical. I provided a bunch of things for him to climb on all over his tank. Despite having all of these fun climbing toys, he chose to try to climb up the front left corner of the tank- the only corner without something to climb on. I learned a lot about determination from him because it didn't matter how many times he would slip, he'd get back up and try again. Here is the hemidrachm from Chersonesos, Thrace, that I bought in honour of all my reptiles. Take care, my friend. Erin
Yes, you will meet again but until that time Blue will be amongst the greatest company the world has to offer, RIP. Sorry!
I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. It's always tough when a member of the family passes. Hershey and I send our condolences. (He refused to wear the hat)
I am so sorry to read of your loss, Brian. I know how heart rending it is. We lost our 14 year old Springer Spaniel, “Agrippina” a few years ago. she was beautiful and a treasure to us: My sincere condolences. “Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.” _ Mark Twain
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear about good ol' Blue! I know how you feel man, when my little buddy Max died I was a total wreck for a couple of days, I made a thread here then also to lift my spirits a bit. I still don't have much in the dog category, but here is one of my favorite modern coins, it has a dog on the bottom of the obverse as an engravers mark. Here are our current dog kids Bennie and Rosie. My wife saw a place online selling pictures of pets Photoshoped on to Victorian era paintings and said how funny she thought it was. I thought, heck, I can pull that off, so I made these for my wife and daughter this year and had them printed on canvas. They thought they were hilarious, I hope it gives you a chuckle in this rough time!
