Please Honor your Favorite PET with a COIN

I lost Blue today. I have had MANY pets over the year, but Blue by far was the closest Soul to me. We did everything together. She was at my office at work, she was always in the same room with me, even if I moved from room to room. She always wanted to touch me, or have me pet her. She was a Beagle-Basset-Australian Shepherd, and was the friendliest dog with everyone she met (Human or other Animals.) She was always wagging her tail.

I took a little time to post coins today, comment, etc. JUST to take my mind off of the horrible pain. She was 12. Had hip dysplasia since she was 8. I took her out to walk Sunday evening, and she collapsed. This morning she was happy, smiled, loved me, but would not leave her bed at the foot of my bed. She could not move her back legs, and could not wag her tail.

Sorry for your loss our 20 year old cat died this summer which is like 100 human years don't have a coin based on her but the memories will live on.

 

Looks like you got her when she was just a puppy (from the B&W photo)? There are really no words to say to someone who loses a pet. You just have lots of memories and photos that'll make you both laugh and cry.

 

Off to bed so I have no time for a long post. But I just wanted to say I am sorry for your loss and give you my condolences. Pets like the beautiful Blue serve a very important role in our lives. Looks like she was a very lucky dog to have you.

I'm sorry to hear for your loss. Back in September my bird was killed in a freak accident. He carried me through high school and his death hurt me for long time afterwards; I couldn't even go downstairs without thinking about what happened.

Stone mountain half dollar reminds me of him, also I live close to Stone mountain.

Condolences on your loss. I've lost many 4 legged companions over my lifetime and have four elderly pets now.

I'm so sorry for your loss, @Alegandron. Blue was a beautiful dog, and I can see from the photos how much she was loved. Every time you wrote about her, it made me happy to read. She will always be with you.

My orange tabby Ziggy, who'll be 15 in March, hasn't been very well recently with chronic kidney disease, and I don't know how much longer he'll be with me. He's been my companion for a long time, and especially this year. But I like to think of him when he was young and frisky, like the lion trotting along on this coin:

Here is our cat "Frankie"... he's the kind of cat that my girls drape over their shoulders as they walk around the house, they sleep with him and are always chasing him or pulling on him and smothering him with their affection. Nothing bothers him, he just enjoys the attention and the rubs.. he does not like being alone.

 

I am so sorry to hear this. I know what you're going through. It's part of the cost of love. She was a very lucky dog indeed.

So sorry to hear about Blue! The same condition hit all 3 huskies I had growing up, and each of their passings was painful. I don’t know if I could choose just one pet to honor, but since the only dog I have in a coin is Cerberus, he could easily count for all 3!
