Please help to identify this 1886 coin

    Hi,
    This is my first post on the forum and know nothing about coins. I picked up this coin along with hundreds of others at a yard sale this past summer. This is a good starter collection for my 10 year old daughter. If anyone could please help me identify this coin and its value it would be greatly appreciated.

    Your coin is a Bulgarian 5 Leva.

    I would estimate the value at between $30-$50, but that is just a guess.

    The '96 Standard Catalog of World Coins lists it at $20 in VF condition. Mintage was 512,000 and it contains .7234 of an ounce of silver.
    You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
