Please help identify the vam on this 1878 7tf/8 Huge die crack

    Just picked this one up today. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify the vam, notice the large die crack on the reverse.

    There is also something very peculiar going on with the tail feathers. Could this be a VAM 33?

    I should also mention that on the obverse there is some extremely strong doubling on some letters and stars.

    There is also some weird doubling/tripling on the cotton blossoms and the leaves. Here is a picture:

    I would guess VAM 38. I think the tail feathers match and it has strong doubling on the obverse. LIBERTY is also shifted left as shown in your image.

    I have a VAM 38. I was just looking at some of the images I took. It shows some cracks on the reverse that match the placement on yours... however, your coin looks like a later die state. I don't have the coin at home, so I can't examine it in detail.
