I have a half eagle in a PCGS slab that has some yellow dry erase marker on it. I tried everything from scrubbing, alcohol, and dish soap. Nothing seems to work to get this stuff off. If anyone can tell me how to get this off it would make my day. IMG_6756.jpg IMG_6756.jpg

You could try and buff it off like people do to get the scratches out, but you might just have to get that one reholdered

would sandpaper do the trick? or would that scratch the whole thing up?

3M Plastic Polish may work. That's the same type of stuff used for headlight cleaning stuff. I've used it to "clean" mildly scratched CD-ROMs/DVDs to a nice scratch free polished surface.

It'd scratch the slab, but depending on how bad it was you may be able to fix the damage afterwards.

Time for an NGC scratch resistant cross-over. Drop off at LCS next time you're there and piggyback their shipping.

    Try black coffee.

It works on a dry erase board if you inadvertently use permanent marker.

    Worth a shot.

If it was common Dry-Erase like used in schools on a white board, it should rub off relatively easy. Sometimes I grab a permanent marker and have to use acetone to remove it. Odd to say the least.

Go to a hobby shop that sells model kits and ask for the polishing compound people use to polish model car and plane windshields. It’s a 3 part system I just can’t think of the name.

To get dry erase markers off boards that won't come off with the eraser, just mark back over the spot that wont come up with a new dry erase marker. The mark that wouldn't wipe off will now wipe clean.

Might try putting fresh dry erase marker back over it and see it if it will pull the old marker up.

This recommended solution should work. If you have some ink stubbornly hiding in scratches in the holder, you'll probably need to buy some "Slab Renew" to polish the scratches out of the holder.

Alternatively, you might just pay PCGS to reholder the coin.

I swear by this stuff. Every slab I own is rehabbed with this stuff and it has not failed a challenge yet.

Hand sanitizer has alcohol in a gel form that doesn't evaporate as quickly. I use it for stubborn dry erase.

Goo Gone might work (this works great for stubborn adhesive residue, such as from price stickers and other issues~it may work for this as well).
