Hmm, tuff one there. I'd have to go with AU-27.5 or (1/2 of AU-55), depends on how you look at it :)

I'm pretty sure this is a business strike right??....since one side is damage the coin is really worthless or to a point where no grade would be given.....if both sides were like this I would say AU but to sell a coin like this I would have to post photos of both sides and let the buyer decided the grade.

Grade is given to the appearance on the overall presentation of a coin. If you just present one side of the coin - it makes no sense why you should set two different grades on both side of a coin. Maybe you will need another grade for the edge too? It just makes it too confusing!

lets just say that the other side doesn't look as good... you could grade it normally but i'm just wondering how this side would grade...

    What is that? A '93-D?

Coins from that era often have very clean reverses and a lot of damage on the obverse. This one has several prominent marks on the reverse so the obverse is likely even worse.

It's a real beaut and probably from a mint set but I'd be surprised if it grades much over MS-62. The reverse is a 64.

I asked one of the "experts" over at that fine institutuion, SGS, and he said with a reverse like that, the revrse could "carry" the coin and receive MS70 grade, or MS71 if you slip him a $20 :D
