Coins 1, 3 & 4 harshly cleaned and/or polished. Coin 2, dip residue and damaged. All of them body-bag material.

Buying coins at melt value produces one thing usually - coins worth melt value.

I would say the odds of getting a rare VAM are low, cherry picking silver bins is probably better. My father reads coin world and sees the found in rolls section. He wants to try it - I told him first to decide what he wants to search, second we need to know what to look for and last we would need to search 1000's of dollars worth of coins to find something that might be worth the time. I don't want him expecting to search 100 dollars worth of coins and expecting to find something worth big bucks or maybe a whole roll of silver. Not sure if he wants to do it or not. We will see.

you are probably right. i wanted to carry a morgan and peace dollar with me the same way some carry gold coins so i bought these now i wont be afraid of damaging them :)

That isn't necessarily a bad result. Over a period of many years, a coin bought and sold at melt value might increase in value more than a highly overpriced coin with phantom numismatic value. I'll wager than many bullion buyers make out better than many high end collectors on the round trip.

Yep - that is the way to go to get something to carry with you. Plus if melt goes up you can make a little money.

    I think the first 3 net a VF-25 and # 4 nets a F-15.

I would say F details on 1 and 4 and vf details on 2 and 3. I am not sure how to net those down because of the cleaning, but personally I think they net down to VG. I will admit that I do not know enough about this, but just my opinion.

I forgot to mention that the coins in the photos are cleaned to the point where grade isn't important. They are basically bullion now.

1 and 4 f-15 2 and 3 vf-25, all either cleaned or dipped, one looks like it might have pvc damage
