This coin intrigues me because it looks like it was dipped in black ink or something then they wiped off all the excess, leaving all of the nooks and crannies filled with black. What do you guys think? I got the coin this way from my brother. At least I don't think it's been cleaned. :)
    Grade? Value? Thoughts?

almost looks like circulation toning, common with Morgans and can be very pretty.
Example I have that is at NGC right now

That's what a nice looking circulated Morgan should look like.

Do me a favor and look under the eagle's tail feathers in the nook between the ribbon and the leaves of the wreath. Let us know if you see part of an "E" there.

It is not unusual to see Morgan dollars turn this "gunmetal gray" from heavy circulation. The coin is damaged, and I wouldn't pay more than melt value for it. By the way, silver dollars struck in 90% silver contain .77344 ozs. of silver.

VG Morgan with honest wear. This is what they're supposed to look like when they're not cleaned.

I didn't see her making a raspberry. Is it another tough VAM?

Nope just a wonderful coin that looks great, the light exposure on that photo is a little too bright, looks better in person and going into my personal collection. With most my Morgans I don't look at VAMs unless you wanna tell me what it is then I'm not the type of person to worry about it.

Nitpicking, but look at the lines in the cotton bolls, guys. The OP's Morgan grades a solid F12.

Looked at it under 10x magnification, nope, don't see anything in that area.

This is my personal preference for color on silver. Nice contrast between the devices and the fields!

That Morgan has been around the block a few times, but really, a very nice piece.

I'd be willing to sell it if anyone wants to make me an offer for it, you know, something above melt value would be nice. :D
