Considering the purchase of two said dollars, years 1799 and 1800. For such an expensive purchase, I wanted to know if these are authentic. Thanks for any help. Also, I have larger pictures to verify in case you see anything suspicious.
Sorry, I can't authenticate them because they are fakes. Did you buy them (cheap) on eBay? Was the seller from China?
What is not wrong with these coins? Liberty on the '99 looks like a witch. The stars and date on the '00 are all wrong. I recommend that you don't buy these fakes unless you just want to buy fake coins (which I do on occasion) and the price is LOW.
Compare the two fakes to illustrations in the Guide Book of United States Coins (available in your local library). After a bit of looking, I think the differences will become apparent. These and other fakes are very common and sell at flea markets for $1 or $2 - much more to the unwary. Never buy a rare or expensive coin unless it has been authenticated by NGC, PCGS or ANACS.
ALthough I am not an expert and have poor evesight, I could spot these fakes from across the street at night!
yeah those are pretty bad the design elements are off, the 1799 looks like she just smelled something stinky!!! haha
100% chance these are 100% bad. Some counterfeits are tricky ... but these ain't. These scream "bogus" !
They look like they are casts. Very grainy surface with poor quality. If these were real, they'd be worth thousands, so why aren't they slabbed or on some reputatable venue? I will give them some credit.......At least they didn't try to sell you the 1804 dollar!!!!
Check out this site, which lists these fakes, among others: http://home.comcast.net/~reidgold/draped_busts/page_7.html Please take the time to study early dollars carefully before even thinking about buying a raw coin.

Mcarney, You really should know the characteristics of the genuine coin first. If the coin does not look like the genuine coin it is most likely a fake. If you looked at a photo of these Silver Dollars in your Red Book (you DO have a Red Book don't you?) you would immediately notice neither coin looks like the real coin.
