Playing around with my new macro lens...

    So, my Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro lens just arrived, and even though I don't have my copy stand or a functioning tripod (all the ones my parents own are missing at least one key part - usually the shoe that connects the camera to the tripod) I'm too excited to wait until I get back to school.

    I've been wanting to take a decent photo of this coin for such a long time - so here goes. Keep in mind that I don't have my lighting setup, I don't have a tripod/copy stand and I haven't edited the photos. But it's a beautiful coin - just wish that little speck on his neck wasn't there...

    That nickle shot is great! You can go to Home Depot and get a couple of daylight bulbs and clamp on reflectors for cheap.
