Planchet Errors?

    Here are a couple of halves I found in circulation. I believe they are planchet errors and not something caused after being introduced into circulation. I would appreciate comments and thoughts.

    1974 coin.
    I believe this is a planchet error because the details on the reverse side are imprinted within the hole. I really have no idea what could have caused this damage. I'm including links to larger pics if needed.

    Again, I just can't imagine what could cause this kind of damage if it's not a planchet error.

    A hammer and a chisel.

    These are ruined coins worked over by a person who's day was not going well.
