Planchet/Blank Pennies

Hello All,

I have two blanks that I have found. The whole blank was found in a pack of new pennies from the late 90's. The other one with the strike...my memory has lapsed.

Can anyone tell me anything about them or what they are worth?

the one has a clip on it, worth a couple of bucket

 

Clip was not done at the mint. The upsetting mill would not allow the clip to look like that.

Edit to add: Unless it was struck severely off center.

 

I would go as far as saying that the clip isn't a clip at all but a punch for a penny that didn't get completed. Don't quote me on that though. But it may be worth looking under a microscope to see if you can see a image of any kind.

 

A couple of bucks each. As far as the second one though, if thats post mint damaged, then maybe a dollar.
