Hello, I am new here, and I am wondering which places are best to go to for coin rolls. Around here, we have: Wells Fargo, US Bank, Bank of America, and some grocery stores. Also, which rolls give the best results? Any suggestions? thanks!
"I am new here, and I am wondering which places are best to go to for coin rolls" One place is as good as the next. "Also, which rolls give the best results?" It depends on what you're looking for. Silver? Errors? Wheaties? The list can go on and on. Welcome to CT.
Most folks search halves, because they have the best silver yield. This is mostly because they don't circulate much, so they don't see as many hands (less people to pick them out). Dimes seem to be decent too, quarters seem to be terrible. Nickels are ok if you're not looking solely for silver, since there's buffs and such on top of the war nicks. And personally I love doing cents, because I enjoy snagging wheaties, but it's mostly just for fun, as there isn't any return on wheaties, like there is on silver. I have found a few IHC tho, and recently I found my first Cent Proof in a cent box. Lots more proofs in halves tho.
I am always doing pennies. It is by far the easiest for me to get from my local credit union. I just get the bags that drop from the coin counter. There are always so many surprises in them.
