One of the worst written news articles I have ever read.

Looks like it was written in English, translated to Mandarin then to Spanish then back to English-- by a computer

Reading this thread stole time from my life. My doctor told me I only have a short time. I asked the doctor how much time I have. He told me, "Three Minutes. I only see patients for 7 minutes and you took 4 of them."

The writing is bad and the proper attention such news articles gets is even worst. That is just another aspect of what can be FIXED when we get serious about ending the plague of numismatic crimes and stolen coins from the industry.

Apparently the US isn't the only place where people get released on bail when they are already out on bail/skipping bail for previous crimes.

 

People are serious about this issue. You cant/won't see it because you are so obsessed with pushing your draconian "fix" and believing most dealers are crooked. Your head is buried in the sand.

It is not feasible to tag every coin so that some unwritten AI algorithm can ID them and prove ownership. Do I need to tag every avg circ buffalo nickel before I sell a few rolls to the local dealer? What about the bag if wheat cents? Who is going to pay for maintaining and updating this database?

I think forcing a collector to prove every coin in his/her collection isn't stolen before they can sell it isn't an effective method. Why don't you give us a few more details on how your plan will work?
