i would like to know if someone on here could post 2 pictures of the same coin(ex morgans)one cleaned and one not cleaned for informational purposes. thank you.
Just a plain run of the mill Kennedy.... I harshly cleaned the devices, see how bright and shiny it is?
If you don't have some, go get you some "junk" silver coins, play with them. Clean them, wipe them, brush them, etc. Do the same with some copper. Nothing beats doing it yourself, by your own hand, to see what cleaning looks like. It will save you a bunch of money down the road, and it is kind of fun:kewl:
Do you have a dealer near you? With morgans it is easy to see if you set them side by side. Our dealer also said he can be really hard to tell a professional cleaning. Told us to come back if we ever had questions or a coin we want him to look at. The dealer showed us by setting a few coins morgans next to each other - this helps. He reminded us that it takes time to learned what is cleaned and what isn't. He also said that you have to be careful with just pictures, because they do not always show the true color or mint luster. Making friends with a local dealer(if available) can help you learn. Then again some coins I know are cleaned still have "eye appeal" to me and I would not mind owning them. Its not easy for us rookies. You can always post pictures and ask opinions here.
