    what is the best way to photograph a coin to submit a picture here. my camera does not get close like the other pictures here.

    First you need a camera capable of taking macro photos (close-up photos). If your camera does not have this capability you could try using a scanner.

    Photographing or scanning a coin is only the first part of getting an image on CT. You may also want to host your image on Photobucket (free accounts) for instance or use any other image hosting site you prefer. CT's image capabilities are rather limited and I suggest you use another site so you have better control over your image content.

    If you have a simple camera without macro capabilities and you also have a loupe, magnifying glass or microscope, you can try holding the loupe directly in front of the camera lens and steady the camera in your other hand while taking a photo of small objects under magnification. This is very jerry-rigged approach but it can help increase your lens capability a bit.
