    this is the first coin out of an original roll ive had for years.
    Is it a S over S or a repunched MM?

    whats a retained Cud? the R in liberty?

    What do you think it would grade? better in the original roll or sold seperate?

    From wiki:

    "retained cuds, in which the broken piece of the die is depressed but still intact. In this case the coin retains some detail within the retained cud."

    I see the retained cud on the reverse, a die chip in the top of the R of LIBERTY. The doubling on the 4 and the S is die deterioration/wear.
