How do I get a good picture of coins to share? I found an awesome 1952-D Wheat I want to show off but can't get a good picture?

Does your camera have a macro function? If it does use that...but the camera must be held very still. Coins can be very difficult to photograph, it's an art in itself. But, with practice it can be done well.

There is no one easy/quick answer, because good images are the result of a combination of the camera, the lens, the lighting and the technique. However, I would suggest that you consider getting a copy of the book Numismatic Photography by Mark Goodman: http://www.amazon.com/Numismatic-Photography-Mark-Goodman/dp/1933990090##

He is an exceptional coin photographer and his book is practical, well organized, efficient and easy to understand.

Can one use a digital camera with a loupe, or is it more complex than that? I've never tried but I'd like to know how .

well, yes, a loupe can be used... but IMHO it further complicates taking the photo. I would suggest doing a search on the forum for this subject. There are alot of great threads that discuss how to take very nice coin images. Most of the topics are relatively new too, so you wont be reading outdated info!
