I just got my dimes and they look way better than I expected. One of the dimes looks totally gem bu, and the other one is practically a twin. The pics tell the whole story, the General MaCarthur is very nice as well, but I won't sell that and I want to keep the lesser of the two dimes.

Is a 1944 Phillipine dime still only worth a few dollars if it's uncirculated? Do I have to have it graded to be able to make a profit? ;)

    Oh excuse me, 10 centavos.

Yes these 1944 10 centavos are not very high dollar coins. Catalog values being $2 in UNC and $3 in BU.
Regarding slabbing, I'm not into slab coin thing but my guess is that slabbing coins less than $50 value won't fetch you any profit.

Yeah pretty bad that yours are 1944 dated. Any other date except 1945 would have fetched you hundreds of dollars.:rolling:

Ah yes, the story of my life a day late and a dollar short. :D

Such is life, what a kick!! I will enjoy the General Macarthur, it's not the peso but it's nice nonetheless.

Cheer up bud . Atleast you got 3 shiny US Philippine coins for the right price (I hope :goofer:). Some of us (read me :() are not so lucky.

BTW I goofed up a bit. No 10 Centavos (km# 181) could fetch you hundreds of dollars. The max it will go for $30. The site you referred to has listed rip off prices IMO coz slabbed coin prices cannot be off from catalog values by such a huge margin.

I like to collect Philippine/USA coins I really like the early 1 peso pieces. Unfortunately, your coins are very common and sell for little. Still, I like to collect them for myself. I feel no American coin collection is complete without these. Here is a nice 1 peso I own. Traci ;)

Ah yes, Traci I have one of those myself. When I first got interested in world coins the Phillipines were some of the nicest IMO. I'd still like to get a Phillipine half cent just to have one. :secret:

Yeah the guy sitting on that coin looks so native and vintage, I will have to add one soon. I was bidding on one last week and when it got above $12 dollars I had to set the thought aside. I couldn't see paying that much for a half a cent that was in poor condition. Unfortunately I can't find a world coin shop in my area. I've bought most of my world coins from an old guy at an antique store. He has a 1 cent Phillipines but it's quite raunchy looking. :DEveryone seems to sell mostly US coins here in Sac, I mean that's ok but I like to add a little diversity in my collecting. :hail:

Oh I got my 2009 US Proof set last week and it's a beauty. I wish I had the camera thing down, I would post some pics. I also got a 2008 mint set with the silver American Eagle in the center and the 5 presidents in a circle. One of the presidents (John Quincy Adams) has little dust or water spots on it. I'm not gonna send it back for one coin b/c I don't want to go thru the hassle, but it surely irritated me. Anyways, I gotta run as I'm on my way to buy some coin flips. :smile
