Hello again - hope everyone is enjoying the early days of the new year. I have received some wonderful news today, and I felt like I should share it with the forum - and hopefully start an educational discussion. First off - the good news! I sent off a submission of world coins to NGC last August, and after a long and tedious journey I've finally received the grades! Included in my submission were a couple new purchases (of last year, of course) - TWO really lovely examples of the 1908 S Allen 2.06b overdate/RPM: I just found out today that both will be coming back from NGC as MS64 (the first in BN and the second in RB) putting them at the upper end of currently graded examples, of which there are few. Now, I've been trying to learn what I can about these varieties through ordinary Google searches. What I'm hoping for is that there is someone here who can help me learn more about these varieties, including estimated mintage numbers, characteristics, and yes, values. Thank you for stopping by!
Wow very sweet finds Ben Let me ask around I love the woody. The red book does list an 1908 s/s pg 427 2022 ed. $300 in 63
Thank you @Paddy54 - I've found a few bits here and there (an old ANACS MS64RB Heritage sale back in 2014, but then also a very snarky Heritage PCGS MS65RB just a few days ago with a drastic increase in price. Plus, I feel my two examples are nicer looking than that 65RB...)
