Phantom "1" behind the "2" ?

    Are these pictures good enough to see what looks like a numeral 1 to me?

    It seems to be a coincidental mark to me. Overdates have been eliminated in US coins over the last century or so by the minting process. Those coins referred to as overdates, 1942/1 dimes, 1918/17 D Buffalo nickel, etc. are actually doubled dies that are referred to as type 3, design doubled.
