    Are pesos like quarters, as in you can see the copper core on the edge of the coin?

    Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Philippines and many more use or have used Pesos.

    Which Denomination?

    1979 was when Mexico stopped using silver in pesos. They were selling over the border maonly as bullion for the silver content but a large number of out of the area travelers thought all of the pesos were silver containing. So be cautious in Mexico.

    Generally, no.

    The clad sandwich used in US minor coins is fairly unique. Most bi-metallic world coins use a two-part core + ring composition.
