For my birthyear set (1941) I'm looking at the Krause listings of Peru 1 centavo coins.
    There are 3 varieties:
    -- KM# 208.2 (straight CENTAVO; thick planchet)
    -- KM# 208a (straight CENTAVO; thin planchet)
    -- KM# 211a (curved CENTAVO)

I definitely don't have the curved CENTAVO variety.
So I'm trying to determine which I have of the straight CENTAVO planchet variety.
Many times Krause lists the weights so a person can tell thick from thin.
    BUT not in this case.

Anyone know how to differentiate the two?

    Numista has weights on these...

    KM# 208a - 2.4 g
    KM# 211a - 2.66 g

Edit: not sure you can even tell by weight though. The planchet could have been "thick" but the diameter may be smaller. Theoretically the weight could be the same.

from looking at the pictures of the curved variety for KM#211a the lettering on the word centavo is rounded like the bottom half of a circle. The straight "Centavo" word/lettering is flat and straight.
