Is the Perth Mint still selling directly to the public? I went to the website and aw nearly no coins.
Australia was one country who shut down completely due to covid. That helped them to reduce spread and control the plague. New Zealand as well perhasp if we had followed 450 k of dead American would of been reduced! Im sure that their mint will be back on line soon...as again their goverment made good choices.
Numismatic or bullion? I went to the website and there are collector coins listed. Plus they have more releases in 21 days. https://www.perthmint.com/default.aspx
They did shut down NZ and slightly Australia less so. It was not a wise choice in either case. I believe there is a no politics rule on the forum, which includes gorilla tactics? You are entitled to your opinion, but why did you feel the need to embed it into this simple question? Based on the science they made a terrible decision. The Perth mint would be only the tip of the iceberg. I know you have you "opinion" on these matters, but I have Doctors, Nurses and Pharmacist in my family that sit at the dinner table and have been dealing with COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. They have been on the front line, and working on the epidemiology. I hear more than enough about this 24/7. It was just not necessary to discuss here. I just wanted to know about the mint and its sales policies. I have very little down time in my life. I don't see why this had to be another front in the COVID-19 war when I just came to relax and chew the fat.
I was told they have silver ounce Kookaburra and Koalas. I didn't see them at first, but now digging through, I see some. This is cool : https://www.perthmint.com/catalogue...den-bell-frog-2017-1oz-silver-proof-coin.aspx - I wonder if they have had any hit coins over the last 3 years?
If you are looking for the bullion Kookaburras and Koalas, your best bet is finding a US seller (eBay or one of the bullion websites). Perth sells bullion directly but the process can take some time and might not be cheapest method. If you are talking about the proof coins, there might be a few still available but again I would recommend to compare the price with eBay and other US Dealers (quite a few of these coins sell for less on the secondary market). As far as any hit coins, they always seems to have a few. I believe there is a series featuring the Simpsons which has been popular. The last time I ordered from Perth was 2015. That was the Back to the Future coins. It's one of my favorite movies and I liked the fact that the packaging was a DeLorean Car.
I don't have any specific favorite. I have bought from this person on eBay a few times: https://www.ebay.com/usr/texasgse Then you have the usual big online dealers (Apmex, Provident, Bullion Exchanges, JM Bullion, Modern Coin Mart, etc). If buying on eBay, you should be ok from almost any seller with good feedback (and you have eBay protection in case something goes wrong). I've bought from a bunch of different sellers on eBay (not just for Perth Mint items) over the years and the vast majority have been smooth transactions.
Well Cplradar It seems this is a typical case of the pot calling the kettle black! Very strange that a member who has been on board on this forum for 9 years 3 months with only 276 post and only 59 likes deceieded to reply to this post. Talk about cherry picking ....well Peter Davis as well most of the mods know who I am and also can delete any post. So that said... my post wasn't politcal....how ever you chose to make it political. My statements were 100% true about two countries who chose to shut down and their efforts doing so saved many lives. Fact over 450,000 Americans are dead! Thats a fact. And not any way political. Fact I have friends who live and travel in both countries....but you know this is the internet where "TROLLS like yourself can be anything they want to be"....they can have doctors ,lawyers and indian chiefs as relatives or in their families. So I will call BULL on your post.....and your try to turn a simple reply into a political battle. Your so transparent in your efforts... its extremely apparent that you did come here to chew the fat but stir the crap! 9.3 years a member, 270 post 59 likes...huh....and you came in to call me out on a factually correct statement? Thats just sooooo strange....like you very strange, as ive been a member a little longer than you... and how many post and likes do I have? We have members here less than 6 months who have more than you do!( You all seeing through this Troll?) Crawl back under your rock....and find another place to start your crap. Peter as well to the" true members "here on CT my apologies if I have crossed the line. My intentions were to give a poster an honest answer to their question not cause an uproar in this forum. However as a member who does care about the content of this froum as well as its true membership I will not be bullied or shamed for posting facts and the truth...Not as I see them...but as they stand 450,000 Americans dead and add to that the total world wide that our members from over seas know to be true as to the losses in their countries. Please be safe make good choices social distance, wash your paws....and most of all stand up for the truth you all know in your hearts! PADDY 54
Based on what rubbish is this a terrible decision? Result is what matters. Strike it hard and fast and that's how covid is kept under control. As far as the Australian economy goes - it is almost back to normal other than tourism and education. I do not see how this is politics.
Well education and reading is fundamental...you should try it sometime...but trolls never do ...they come in...stir it up, and crawl back under the rock with the rest of the cold blooded snakes.
You dont live in Australia and assumed that it didn't work well here. That is NOT well received and needs to be corrected.
Just to clarify, the post that the moderators removed was an image of Commander Data of Star Trek from fist full of datas. I mention this only so nobody thinks I wrote anything to continue this side conversation on COVID-19. I didn't think it insulted anyone either, but I am not the ulitmate judge. It's purpose was to douse this with humor and make a point that arguing here is useless. I guess it failed to reach those objectives.
