Here are two coins struck by Persian Governors (satraps) in "occupied" Cilicia (AR obol) and Ionia AE11, during the 4th. Century BC. They are showing the interesting profiles of these Satraps.
Cool AR Obol and bronze!! The portraits are lovely. Can you post the reverses as well? Lately, several of us have scored Cilician staters, dating to just prior to Alexander's conquest of the region.
Thank you. You are right, the satraps used to wear the bashlyk. This a typical Persian headdress worn at the time by rulers. named ."bashlyk" typical Persian headdresses called "bashlyks"
oh yeah, ok. i guess most don't show the "chin straps" fastened to the chin on the parthian coins, i thought maybe it was some type of helmet or something. here's one you can buy on ebay with chin covering in position! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Russian-Cos...t-Cover-Soviet-Imperial-A-Repro-/371260927403
