If you live in or around "P"town and collect morgan dollars, I want to know if you ever seen the adds that have been in the paper for years and years in the back of the PJstar about the morgan dollars, and called that guy up? he's in his 80's and will meet at an area restraunt (east peoria) an offer for sale the coins he has in the add and looks like the grade the add says, then you pull out your money he'll say "I sold that coin, this one is about to grades higher, and cost more" He tried to get me on a 1879 CC that was in the add at VG for $95, and looked VG to, but then it changed to a Fine $250. I even offered him $140 but no luck, he showed me other Morgans I had seen in his adds over the years,to see if I'd take them instead, but with the same upgrade game. He already sold the one in the add you called about, but has another in a higher grade, that looks like the lower grade coin, but doesn't say anything on the phone about it till you show up in person. lol It was 5 year ago I dealt with him, but he's still going strong. He is quite the character, anybody got a story or two about him, you would like to share? :loud:
