does anyone know what I'm talking about? I have a 2005 penny and it's got little "pimples" on the obv. any extra value?

Sounds like a case of blistered plating. It's caused by impurities or subsurface corrosion beneath the copper plating. Unless it's a truly severe case, it has no value.

While cleaning your coins is wrong, I suggest Clearasil or Stridex.

No, No, NO. The clearasil will open the pimples and you never know what will run out. The stuff taht comes out may contaminate the rest of the coin. I do agree with the Stridex but only soft pads, not the creame.

Is this a severe case of acne?

I found several of these with slight bubbling, and a few more extreme. It's hard to tell from the photo, but most of the bubbles are still intact. Is this "severe" enough to be worth anything, and if so, appx. how much?
    Thanks, Mari

It might be worth a buck or two.
