Ok so we are on my classes senior trip (went to monticello, DC, New York city and Philedelphia all in 6 days) that we take on spring break, my school is a 800 kid k-12 public school and my class is 70 students and only about 30 went, but we are at Independence Hall and at its gift shop and there are plenty of shot glasses to choose from and i always wanted to start one not because i drink but because they are small inexpensive and everywhere so i can get one where ever i go and they come in all sorts of ways, so i'm looking at them and i pick up one with Ben Franklin's quote "A penny saved is a penny earned" and yea i know the quote and like it especially since i collect coins but then i look in the bottom of it and in the glass there is a 2007 D Lincoln Peen loged in it, i had to buy it even if i don't start a shot glass collection so now i will store pennies in it. :hail: Not the best pics. I need to clean the bottom from residue from price sticker but you get the picture. The coin is in probably XF condition. Though is was only about $4
that's awesome. I'll have to show my dad this one. He has collected shot glasses since he was a child and has hundreds of them, and quite a few are over a hundred years old. Ive thought about starting a shot glass collection, but I found coins. And mine would look too weak next to my dads. Have fun!
don't worry i have 5 collections going right now but the serious one is coins, they are Coins/Paper Currency, Stamps, License Plates, Bottle Caps, and if i continue Shot Glasses, The stamps are mostly my Grandfathers, the License Plates are only 5 and the bottle caps are only off drinks i drink
Good, we won't loose you then. wow. That's cool, I have a stamp collection, a few liscense plates, and I used to collect bottle caps. I guess we're both just flat out "collectors"
Cool shot glass. I also collect them. Whenever I travel, I buy a shot glass from different places I visit.
Actually, the tradition of sticking coins in the bottom of glass vessels dates back many centuries. A very cool thing, I think.
I too like that idea. Try imagining sitting at someone's house and they pour you a shot of something and there on the bottom is that coin. I've got a bug in a plastic ice cube that works great. Coins in objects are becoming a craze lately. I made my own a long time ago. Made it and it's been on my desk since 1959. Keep your shot class for a long time. It's great. I've got to get one of those.
