    i used to go to rollerland in danbury, ct back with my then g/f, we used to go every thursday, firda and saturday, we did this for years, sadly those types of amusements, along with arcades are all done on phones now, the world is weird now for sure....

    The world was weird then. Always has been, I guess. The weirdness just takes different forms as time marches on.

    Though I like to wax nostalgic about my itinerant gypsy childhood from the 1970s (Florida, Tanzania, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Bahamas, Florida), if you offered me the chance to go back, would I?

    Sure, maybe for one day, just to have a look around at all the stuff I’ve forgotten or was too young to notice at the time. I’d take my 21st century iPhone with me and shoot lots of pictures and video, and absolutely blow everybody’s mind with the gadget.

    But then I’d want to go right back to the 2020s, please. After I got to see my grandparents again, of course.

    That is very cool! We used to burn wood when I was a kid. We had one room, the "wood room", that was filled wall to wall and floor to ceiling every fall. By spring, that room was empty. It was my job every morning and every evening to stoke the stove as my bedroom was in the basement. I'll never forget the smell, and smoke, and sometimes flames, that would billow out of that stove when I cracked the door.

    2020 ASE and LifeSavers have been safely delivered. I'm old enough to remember LifeSavers as an obigatory stocking stuffer and the variety pack is my favorite (except the lemon ones, of course)

    I like to help people. Tomorrow I will go next door to greet my new neighbor, who moved in earlier this week while I was out of town. Instead of bringing her something as a welcome present, I will offer my assistance if she needs anything fixt/done. That will include two suggestions on things that were apparently not brought up in her inspection.
