    I want those!

Showed our mantle with all our stockings last time, but here is a close-up of my own stocking. I'm really fond of it -- one of my aunts made it for me over 65 years ago. For those old enough to recognize them, but maybe not too old to be able to remember them, the dangly decorations were all prizes from boxes of Cracker-Jacks.

I want those! to go to @mrbadexample (picked random person quickly) if I win this round, ok?

Now there is actually a very logical reason the earth is not and never could be flat...

I've CRH'd Nickels since I restarted collecting in the last several months, but I don't think I've acquired a new Buffalo since I was a teenager back in the '60s. They're Classic Americana.
Stay safe, and I hope all y'all have a good holiday season - whichever you celebrate.

That one made me chuckle and nearly LOL, but I restrained myself because Ladymarcovan is sleeping in the next room.

I just put on my shoes, which had been knocked out into the middle of the living room floor during a recent bout of kitten vs. kitten combat.

When I put my foot in it, there was something inside the right shoe. That normally might've been cause for alarm, but it wasn't all cold and gooshy like a turd would've been. *Whew*

Wedged up inside the toe of the shoe was a fluffy cat toy. Hmm.

Very belated reply to Post #289- @mrweaseluv - that Gran Torino is a beauty! I used to have a thing for late-'60s/early-'70s muscle cars. My favorite set of wheels back in my '20s was my black '73 Cutlass Supreme. A good friend had a Gran Torino. Another had a '71 Monte Carlo. This was back in the '80s, when, as you mentioned, such cars could be had cheaply and then fixed up.

Cat Combat . LOL . My Dog and Cat are always working in a team . The Cat knocks over the Doggie treats for the Dog all the time . The cat even does his "thing" in our bathroom . He has a litter box there .LOL

Firing up the random number generator now.

We'll draw the winner for Day 8, and then it will be time for...

... no, not a Bruce Willis action movie.

That's just a little heavyhanded hint about what's coming for Day 9, very soon. ;)

But first... the drawing for Day 8. Stay tuned...

The random number generator has spoken again, giving us the winning number for Lot #8.

The number it chose was #345.

    ... and Post #345 was by @AZSteve!

Congratulations, @AZSteve! You just won a small herd of Buffalos! Be sure to provide @Penny Luster with your shipping address. I'll send a private message.

And now the ninth day has arrived.

    Lot #9.

On the ninth day of COINmas, @Penny Luster gave to thee...

    Nine silver Mercury dimes:

    1926 (x2)
    1935
    1936 (x2)
    1939-S
    1941
    1943-D
    1944-D (x2)
*Hmm, I just noticed that list she provided for the rundown of dates adds up to ten, not nine. So take that with a grain of salt. Maybe she'll clarify the list of dates later. But hey, whatever- there's nine Mercury dimes offered here, regardless. A nice little handful of old silver!

    Want 'em? :)

All you have to do to enter is say "I want those!", and then post something else amusing and cheerful, per Claire's directions:
After one day has elapsed, we will then have another drawing, and give these coins away, and then we'll move on to the tenth day of Coinmas, which will be a drawing for ten coins!

You've posted them thar bells at least three times, now, Sal. They're cool, but I know you've found some other stuff while digging! ;)

Then again, they are kind of seasonally appropriate...
