Penny looks different

    Is this one of the things I'm suppose to look for on coins. Is it normal to have these. Please bare with me I'm just learning this.

    It's normal to see this. It's due to Die Deterioration.

    Mint marks of the 3 major US mints and their locations
    P - Philadelphia
    D - Denver
    S - San Francisco

    Cents minted at the Philadelphia Mint did not use a Mint Mark until the first time this year 2017 P
