It's just a novelty item that was done after the coin left the mint, so the value would be only to someone who collected such things. To a coin collector, it's merely damaged.
Unfortunately there is one on Ebay falsely labeled as an error coin that is selling for a ridiculous amount of money. Too bad the POS can’t be charged with theft by deception.
Wow.. 16 bids.. that is really sad! So many people don't understand the minting process and How true mint errors occur. I saw one for $3.00 at the flea market.. I agree with novelty item.
