Penny/dime??

    Hello I have a 1983 penny that looks like it is also stamped with a dime. You can see the smaller circle ring and the word liberty spelled backwards. The L and i are hard to read but the BER are clear then the TY are harder to read also. There circle ring and the letters you can't make much else out. the circle ring and what looks like there could be more letters that I can't read. Because of the ring you cant make out the word trust on the penny stamp. Has anyone seen anything like this.

    I had a really hard time trying to take a picture with my camera and my scanner is broken. I tried. the liberty is on the bottom

    It's not an error. This type of alteration is known variously as a "squeeze job", "vise job", or "hammer job". A dime was hammered or pressed into the surface of your cent.
