    y r some pennies skinny compared to others? i have a 2001 and 2002 and the 01 is fat, why? something to do with repunching?????

    and did the dates shrink from the 90's pennies to the 2000 plus?

    The dates & mint marks are no longer punched into the dies like they used to be Spider. They are now included right in the master die. It is not uncommon for them to be slightly different from one year to another.
