so i went to my bank with 4 rolls of nickles and a roll of dimes. i traded it out for 26 rolls of pennies (the lady at the bank officially hates me now) i went through all of them and found 4 wheat cents, four 1969 S in very good condition, and i have a cup filled with pre 1983 pennies. i just bought a magnifying lens so now im going to look closer at them to find any errors i will get pictures up as soon as possible
Ok.. Don't forget to look for varieties also. https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/1655/Variety-versus-Mint-Error/
The roll hunters I know make a point of how they buy and sell rolls to banks. You do not want to be a hassle. Aside from just general social manners, basically, you get the rolls from one bank and turn them in to others (plural) different. Money is not free to banks. They pay to have it delivered and picked up. If you graduate to larger hauls, you should be prepared to place an order and wait for a few days for it to be delivered. Cents are fairly easy. Halves and dollars are a hassle for them. But a lot depends on the branches and the people you befriend or be-enemy.
It is not a big deal for me, not what I collect as a numismatist, but I draw the line at 1982. They changed the alloy in the middle of the production year. So, I toss 1981 and earlier in one jar and 1982 and later in another.
