I have been buying 20 boxes of pennies a week recently and sorting the copper from the zincs. Then I do another sort for wheats, time permitting.

Upon looking at the cherrypickers guide there are a number of possible ddo, rpm's out there in the copper. Just curious if people are bypassing these or are the fellow crh'ers actually looking at every coin? I could throw in some in zinc as well to look for.

I'm just curious if people doing this volume or more than me still look or if it is the people looking in a few rolls a week?

Hey Sticktuna. Welcome. What I do is I bought a lot of penny plastic tubes. I dated all the dates for wheats on those tubes and sort them. For the Memorials I only have tubes for the dates in the cherry pickers guide. Once those tubes are full, I got through and look at each coin. I look for the RPMs or DDOs or other varieties.

Also I do keep an out of for obvious errors, with dates that don't have tubes. As you go through the rolls you learn more and catching oddities becomes easier. I just filled and looked through a 1992 D tube and posted a possible error right after you posted this.

    Good Luck Hunting!! :woot:

Luke are you going through every coin?
And pulling all the known cherrypickers listed years?

For wheats I find I go through every coin. I learned there are other Rpms and DDOs on dates not listed in Wheats and Memorials, but more in wheats. With the memorials I just keep the dates in the cherry pickers guide. Here look at this. This will help. http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/date.php
