    Sent in a few things to SEGS recently... here's the list.

    Submitted: 9-10-04

    5c 1941-S FS-024.6 Minimum Grade MS60
    5c 1939 r38 DDR-006 Minimum Grade PR60
    5c 1950 DDR-002 Minimum Grade PR60
    5c 1955-D OMM-001 Minimum Grade MS60
    5c 1955-D OMM-002 Minimum Grade MS60
    5c 1955-D OMM-003a DDR-003 Minimum Grade MS60
    5c 1955-D OMM-009 Minimum Grade MS60
    5c 1955-D OMM-010 Minimum Grade MS60
    5c 1956 FS-035.2 QDR-018 Minimum Grade MS60
    5c 1963 FS-37.3 Minimum Grade MS60

    The 63 has not yet been reviewed for the CONECA files so as soon as I get it back it's going to James Wiles for the files. I was fortunate enough to be able to obtain TWO EACH of the 56 and 63, both are very tough and all four of these should go MS65 or better. The 56 has a great quad die reverse. I will post the results when I get them back. Only about 200 more raw ones to go.... hah! Anyone else have any nickels out?

    Jason:
    I just sent the following in to Dr. Wiles along with about 12 others. Am hoping some of them are discoveries (one can only hope). Among the 12 others was a 1941 inverted S (or at least what I believe to be - if so, it's my second uncirculated one).

    Population: 27
    Markers: DM: DGR: South from bottom of P (missing in earlier die stage) in PLURIBUS and also from left side of P and left side of U in PLURIBUS toward Left Roof. Die gouges from top of C in AMERICA.
    UVC-00 DMR-00n Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed)
    Stage B: Reverse and Obverse are MDS
    DGR: South from left side of P and left side of U in PLURIBUS toward Left Roof. Die gouges from top of C in AMERICA.
    DGR: South from bottom of Pin PLURIBUS toward left roof, parallel to other die scratch from P.
    Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed)

    And here are the results.....

    5c 1941-S FS-024.6 == MS63 3323 Steps (This is the Inverted Mintmark Variety that has been debunked by CONECA recently but I will be conducting my own research.)

    5c 1939 r38 DDR-006 == PR63 5555 Steps (Nice early date med/large spread.)

    5c 1950 DDR-002 == PR62 6666 Steps (This is a scarce and expensive die.)

    5c 1955-D OMM-001 == MS64 3323 Steps OMM-005 (Hmmm, I must be slipping, but on the bright side I did not have that OMM and OMM-1 is pretty easily obtainable at any given time. Not bad steps for this variety either.)

    5c 1955-D OMM-002 == MS63 3303 Steps

    5c 1955-D OMM-003a DDR-003 == MS63 4323 Steps

    5c 1955-D OMM-009 == Not OMM-009, did not slab. (Hmmmm)

    5c 1955-D OMM-010 == MS63 3324 Steps (Scarcer OMM, last one I saw went for well over $100 on ebay some time ago.)

    5c 1956 FS-035.2 QDR-018 == MS64 5335 (Awesome EDS with quad spread on reverse. This coin is blast white.)

    5c 1963 FS-37.3 == MS63 4335 (Another nice DDR with a triple spread. This coin is also blast white.)

    Jason:

    The following came back as new listings from the two groups that I sent in to Dr. Wiles:

    1962-D DDR-003,3-R-II-C, Stage B, MDS
    1964 DDR-054, 54-R-II-C+VI, Stage C, LDS
    1969-S RPM-007, S/S Rotated CCW, Stage B, MDS
    1940 DDO-004, 4-O-VI, Stage A, EDS
    1941-D DDO-001, 1-O-VI, Stage B, MDS

    12 came back as too minor to list.

    1 came back as probable new listing. Needs an earlier die state and higher grade to confirm.

    Others came back as:

    1943-D DDR-001, 1-R-II-C, Stage A, EDS
    1944-P DDR-006, 6-R-II-C+VI, Stage B, MDS
    1945-S RPM-011, Stage C, LDS
    1954-S DDR-001, 1-R-II-C, Stage A, EDS
    1938 DDO-012, 12-O-II-C, Stage A, EDS
    1938 DDO-005, 5-O-II-C (3) Stage B, MDS

    Kennedy Half 1964 DDO-030, 30-O-II-C, Stage C, LDS

    The 1941-S did not come back as inverted.

    All in all, not too bad. Still need to improve my attribution skills but comparing my results with those of Dr. Wiles will help.

    Looks like you did pretty well yourself! Congratulations!

    Dan

    Wow, nice score there Dan! If your interested in selling any of the nickels please PM me!!!

    I'm getting another package together tonite for SEGS and for James. I'll post a new thread to let you know what I'm sending... (always kinda fun to take a guess at what we are sending, for others to see, and then posting the results as what they actually come back as).
