I have found a 1922 no mint mark Liberty Dollar. Looking in the Red Book it has it for High Relief and Normal. How would I know the difference, and what would it be worth? If I need to send a pic, I will. Thank you! Renee
The 1922 Peace Dollar is the most common in the series. My understanding is the high relief and low relief refer to the proof versions of which only a handful were made. I believe the circulation strikes were stuck with the "low relief" design in 1922 (as opposed to 1921 which were high relief). They made 50milion + of the circulation strikes. Yours is likely a circulation strike and it's value is dependent on condition. If you could post a picture we could give you a better idea of it's value. For a normal circulated example it would be worth melt...which right now is about $10.
Sorry it took so long to send a pic. Might have to copy and paste to see it. Thank you! http://community.webshots.com/user/renee35967
Thanks for the photo. CamaroDMD was accurate. The 1922 Peace dollar would sell for its value in silver content which is currently $9 - $10 I think. Very best regards, collect89
Low relief. Looks like a BU example, I'd grade in the MS-62 range. If I had the coin in hand to look at the surfaces that could change. I suspect its worth $20-$24.
